beneath the “viral + buzz marketing association” (vbma) and the “word of mouth marketing association” (womma) the uk-based “viral advertising association” (vaa) has launched, pushed by u.k. viral agency asa bailey. the group is best known in the states for having grabbed ogilvy’s u.k. domain and relentlessly made fun of the traditional media giant.
their mission is “to promote viral advertising to the wider marketing industry. through working with other individuals and organisations to provide a better understanding of how viral advertising works. a big part of the vaa role is definition, education, example by case study, research and statements to demonstrate why viral advertising should be a part of every modern media plan.”
