calvin klein goes bullshit marketing
german pr agency dkd goes bullshit marketing for calvin klein and pisses off the german blogosphere – client coty prestige lancaster group.
five fake bloggers tried to infiltrate the german blogosphere with comments in popular weblogs, linking to their fake blogs and myspace profiles. the intention was to promote a new perfume by calvin klein. it fired back and the blogosphere is pissed, feels misused for dishonest marketing purposes. and to say it in the words of thomas zorbach, vm-people – this is bullshit marketing:
“the term bullshit marketing summarizes methods where customers are not treated as empowered, smart and connected individuals, but as a dumb mass of idiots.”
sorry dkd/coty, what were you thinking? here comes the bill.
